Space Perspective, a pioneering company making luxury space travel accesible, offering an extraordinary experience that promises to change your outlook on our planet forever.
Space Perspective, founded in 2019 by aerospace visionaries Jane Poynter and Taber MacCallum, is redefining the boundaries of human spaceflight. The company’s mission is to share the awe-inspiring power of space travel with as many people as possible, providing a unique vantage point that transforms one’s perception of Earth and humanity’s place within it.
The Vision: Transformative Space Travel
Space Perspective introduces the world’s first carbon-neutral spaceflight experience using Spaceship Neptune, a state-of-the-art vessel designed for luxury and sustainability. Rather than battling gravity with rockets, Spaceship Neptune ascends gently to the edge of space using a high-altitude SpaceBalloon filled with lighter-than-air gas, providing an environmentally friendly ascent and descent. Priced at $125,000 per seat, this experience is designed to be both exclusive and transformative.
A Legacy of Innovation
Jane Poynter and Taber MacCallum bring a rich legacy of innovation to Space Perspective. As founding members of the Biosphere 2 design team, they lived for two years in a hermetically-sealed, self-sustaining environment, gaining a profound understanding of Earth’s complex ecosystems. Their experience mirrors the perspective shift reported by astronauts, deepening their commitment to sharing this unique viewpoint through space tourism.
Poynter and MacCallum’s previous ventures include co-founding World View Enterprises and Paragon Space Development Corporation, where they advanced life support technologies and stratospheric exploration. Their combined expertise and passion drive Space Perspective’s vision to offer a safe, sustainable, and awe-inspiring journey to the edge of space.
Sustainable by Design
Space Perspective is committed to sustainability. By using a SpaceBalloon instead of rockets, the company minimizes environmental impact. Each SpaceBalloon is recycled after flight, and all components of Spaceship Neptune are designed for reuse. Collaborations with organizations like Cool Effect and Evertreen ensure carbon offsets for any unavoidable emissions, making every journey as eco-friendly as possible. The company is also retrofitting its launch vessel, MS Voyager, to use biofuel, further reducing its carbon footprint.
